The brand of “Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang” has been widely used all over Jakarta, but I wonder which one is the pioneer and most authentic. Kebon Kacang is an administrative village in Tanah Abang district, Menteng, Central Jakarta. Thus, I guess the original Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang should be the one located in Pasar Tanah Abang or the one located on Jl. Kebon Kacang. Riri took me to another Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang Hj. Ellya in Pesanggrahan, West Jakarta. This post is about Kedai Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang in Mall of Indonesia, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, which is the eighth branch since 1967.
Everything here is extremely petite, especially the nasi uduk.
We ordered several lauk: Sate Udang, Sate Usus Ayam, Ayam Goreng Dada, Tahu Goreng, Tempe Goreng
Two kinds of sambal: sambal ijo and sambal kacang. I like the sambal ijo, as it tastes like the usual one served in Padang restaurants. I don’t really like the sambal kacang, but it tasted OK after Riri mixed it with sweet soy sauce.
